Reporting currency is the currency of the financial statements as presented externally. When an entity's ledger currency differs from the reporting currency, a translation process is required. Translation gains and losses — currency translation adjustments — arise from this process and must be recognized and disclosed. In group reporting, a parent entity may present consolidated financial statements in a reporting currency that differs from the functional currencies of its subsidiaries.
Position in Chain
Reporting currency is State 06 of the CCY State Chain. It is the first state at which financial results become externally visible. Translation adjustments emerge here.
